A first meetup should be easy to leave.

Use this checklist to make a clear public plan, protect your independence and reduce avoidable uncertainty before meeting a new travel contact.

THE SIMPLE RULE

Make a plan that still works if you decide to leave after ten minutes.

BEFORE YOU GO

Six checks before saying hello

No single step removes risk. Together, these choices give you more information, more options and a clearer exit.

01

Choose a staffed public place

Pick a café, hotel lobby, museum entrance or another well-lit venue with staff and other people around.

02

Share the complete plan

Tell someone you trust who you are meeting, where, when it starts and when you expect it to end.

03

Keep independent transport

Know how you will arrive and leave. Do not rely on a new contact for your only way home.

04

Agree on the details

Confirm the activity, expected cost, duration, group size and meeting point before you leave.

05

Protect essentials

Keep control of your phone, documents, money, room access and drinks throughout the meetup.

06

Leave when you want

Discomfort is enough reason to go. You do not owe anyone a longer explanation or a second location.

DURING THE MEETUP

Your boundaries do not need a debate.

Keep your own essentials and transport under your control. If the venue changes, move only to another staffed public place and update your trusted contact.

01

Notice pressure

Repeated persuasion, isolation, unwanted touch or anger at a boundary are reasons to leave.

02

Trust discomfort

You do not need proof that something is wrong before ending the meetup.

03

Move to support

Approach venue staff, another trusted person or a busier public area when needed.

!
IMMEDIATE DANGER

Move to safety and contact local emergency services.

Solo Circle reporting can help address platform conduct after immediate needs are handled. The app is not an emergency service.
