Scope and our role
This Policy explains how Solo Circle handles personal data across our website, app, waitlist, Circles, business profiles, support and safety systems. It applies when you visit, apply for access, create an account or interact with another user.
Contact privacy@solocircle.app for privacy questions or requests.
Information we collect
Account and profile: name, email, phone, date of birth, country, profile text, photos, languages, interests, travel history and verification state.
Activity: Circles, connections, plans, attendance, messages, reports, blocks, support requests, preferences and interactions with businesses.
Location: approximate public location and, with device permission, coordinates used privately for nearby discovery and area-Circle eligibility. Coordinates are not displayed to other travelers.
Technical: session identifiers, device and browser information, IP-derived security signals, notification tokens, logs and diagnostic events.
How we use information
We use data to provide accounts, manage waitlist access, recommend relevant people and Circles, maintain area membership, deliver messages and notifications, support meetups, operate safety features and respond to requests.
We also use information to prevent abuse, secure accounts, investigate reports, measure reliability, debug the service, comply with law and improve features. We do not sell personal data.
Location and area Circles
When location permission is granted, coordinates can confirm whether your device is within an administrator-defined radius. If you leave an area Circle, membership may remain active for a configured grace period, normally 24 hours, before automatic removal. Returning inside the radius during that period cancels removal.
Members see an approximate place label. Do not put accommodation addresses or live itineraries in public fields.
Safety, reports and moderation
Reports may include submitted descriptions, relevant identifiers, content, timestamps and moderator actions. Authorized personnel use this information to assess risk and enforce rules. Reports and blocks are not public profile content.
We may retain evidence longer when needed for safety, disputes, legal obligations or preventing repeat abuse.
Retention and deletion
We keep information while your account is active and as needed to deliver the service. Retention periods depend on data type, safety needs, legal duties, dispute resolution and backup cycles.
An account-deletion request disables profile visibility and sessions, then begins deletion or de-identification. Some records may remain where law, fraud prevention, financial accounting or safety enforcement requires retention.
Your choices and rights
You can edit profile information, pause discovery, control visibility, change notification preferences, block users, leave Circles and revoke device permissions. App controls support data export, session revocation and account deletion requests.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, receive a portable copy or complain to a data-protection authority. We may verify identity before fulfilling a request.
Security and international processing
We use access controls, encryption in transit, restricted administrative tools, audit records and other safeguards appropriate to the service. No system is completely secure; promptly report suspected account compromise.
Service providers may process data outside your region. Where required, we use recognized safeguards for international transfers.
Children, updates and contact
Solo Circle is for adults aged 18 or older and is not directed to children. Contact us if you believe a minor has provided personal data.
We may update this Policy as features or laws change and will identify the new effective date. Contact privacy@solocircle.app or support@solocircle.app.
